Books... A History of Love
Hello all. I’ve had a crazy few days with all of the holiday bustle as I’m sure many people have had. Now that I graduated from college I’ve come to thoroughly enjoy reading at any chance I can. One of my great friends suggested that I read A History of Love by Nicole Krauss. The books tells the story of three different characters who are connected through a book called A...

Crafter-noon!
Since my sister has been in town we have been running all around Southern California. Two christmases ago she purchased long feather earrings from a street vendor in New York. I had really wanted a pair but refused to pa twenty bucks for them and settled on the fact that I would eventually borrow them and never return them. Well that never happened, so I suggested that we go to the garment...
Christmas just isn't the same.
This is my first Christmas in California. I have always been home for the holidays but this year it was just far too pricy for me to travel back to New York City. Luckily my sister is coming out tomorrow to spend Christmas with me as well as New Years. I’ve recently been really homesick which came as a bit of a shock to me. I left New York when I was 18 years old to move to California...
Rainy Movie day
I am a huge fan of mythology. I love reading the stories and geeking out and watching movies like “Clash of The Titans”, and I never change the channel when old re-runs of Hercules or Xena are on TV. I stumbled upon Ondine on netflicks and was thrilled when I read the description and even more delighted when the movie turned out to be extremly beautiful. Colin Ferrel plays the...
Now playing... Broken Bells
It’s raining in Southern California, and I’m REAL ove it. Anyways Broken Bells is new band on the rise and I finally have the time to really explore their music I really love it. If you haven’t checked em out you totally should.
Broken Bells is an American alternative rock band composed of artist-producer Brian Burton (better known as Danger Mouse) and James Mercer, the lead...
Auto Correction
I have an Iphone! I love that phone, I mean it drops just about every phone call I ever have and takes forever to open text messages sometimes; BUT it’s still an iphone and it’s sleek and sexy so I will alway LOVE it. What I don’t love is Auto Correct. At first I thought “how convenient this phone thinks for me”. And then I realized that thats not always the case....
Oldie But Goodie, Freelance Whales show
I went to a Freelance Whales show last year at the Echo in LA. This band is so fun! They constantly change instruments through out the show and sound even better live than they do on the CD. They’re definitely a band to listen to.
My.Inner.Fat.Girl. Segment 1
Okay so I am a small girl. I have been blessed with a pretty good metabolism these last 25 years. Sometimes I have the appetite similar to that of a 300 lb man. I’m too sure where all the carbs go but I have been feeling very aware of my ass lately. Anyhow I feel like this is a prefect time for me to introduce a segment I would like to share on guilty pleasures that I LOVE called...

Artist Archives
It is 5:39am and I am awake. I’m not sure how this happened, because I TRULY have the best bed in America and I hate it when I’m not sleeping in it. So I’m doing the only thing I can do in these wee hours of the morning. Watch a reality show (Tonight it’s The A-List, DONT JUDGE ME), Eat some ice cream and follow that up with some carbs, and blog. Tonight/this morning the...
Film for thought
I just watched Brief Interviews with Hideous Men which was directed by John Krasinski (Jim from the Office) and is also a book by the late David Foster Wallace. There aren’t enough great things to say about this film, and every time I watch it I figure more things out. This movie is certainly one to watch!! It’s on instant watch on Netflix.
Dark Dark Dark... I Like like like them
I got back from San Diego yesterday! Such an amazing weekend. The show was at the Contemporary Museum of Art in La Jolla. Dark Dark Dark played on the stage in the museum’s theater and I was thrilled when they played my favorite song Daydreaming. Nona, the lead singer, has such a beautiful, delicate, husky voice; which reminds me so much of Fiona Apple and Cat Power. Her vocals along with...
Concert Alert
About a month ago I heard an amazing song on Grey’s Anatomy or Private Practice (I always forget which show because they all feature amazing music). The song was called Daydreaming by a band named Dark Dark Dark. This band is so incredible, the lead vocalist reminds me of the husky voice of Fionna Apple. In no time I was in love with this band and telling everyone about them. I was even...
