A MUSIC REVIEW: Feist- Metals.

I’m not going to lie, I was not excited about Feist’s new album. Nor did I have any intention of listening to the songs. However my roommate uploaded into my itunes so I had no choice. Let me explain: after hearing that 1-2-3-4 song way too many times on Apple commercials or sesame street and every indie kid obsessing how brilliant the she was for being groundbreaking, I was a little underwhelmed. Im not saying I didn’t like her last album, because I did, but I really was not that impressed. I couldn’t help but feeling like there was something missing in the production or the mastering, I don’t know it just didn’t wow me. So I really wasn’t anticipating Metals.

I’m happy to say that this album is really great! I feel like Feist came back with as a stronger, more assured musician and it shines so evidently in each track. I love how there are so many layers to every song and I can really tell the drive of the music. It seems as though her songs are intentional and so musically on point. This song Undiscovered first kills me. It’s bluesy it’s folky it’s just great!, it almost feels like a 60’s tribal song love love love love it. Her harmonies are magnificent I love the heavy rhythm and brass instrument . Every track it awesome I highly recommend it!
